Food was delicious! Got 3 meals to share - Chicken Tikka Marsala and Shrimp Vindaloo were awesome!! We said we wanted it hot, they asked American hot or Indian hot. We said Indian hot as we both love spicy food. It was spiced really well. Mango ice cream was so good, a lot like a frozen yogurt dessert. Only reason for 4 stars was I think the decor could use some updating and when we walked in one of the curtains to the back was pulled open and could see a child's pack and play. Service was extremely friendly. Glad to have found this place and will definitely be back soon!

In short, bad service, "ok" food, not worth. We planned to have dinner at this restaurant for our visit from Atlanta. It is very small restaurant, with like 20 - 25 person capacity. We were there for Sunday night, on labor day weekend, and we waited for close to 60 mins to get the food. After waiting for so long, we were more disappointed with food, it was bland, quantity was less. Vegetable Biryani was so bad, we preferred plain rice over that. When we got the check, it did not even had items listed what we ordered, just some kind of ids. We were so tired, we did not even bothered to ask if he has charged right or not. We have a group of eight, who travel together, and well it was a bad experience of for all of us. To add, there was another group of 6 persons, sitting close to our table (well, since it had capacity of 20 -25, everybody was close to each other :P). They came 5 mins after us, and poor guys were waiting till we finished our dinner. One of the lady from that group shouted on one of the waiter. It was bad.

This 3-star rating represents an average across the food, service, facility, and our total overall experience at this restaurant. The food is actually quite good, quite above average as Indian restaurants go. The cook/chef came out to serve us, and she was quite nice and attentive, as was our "drinkmaster". The facility is rather pedestrian. Feels like an old coffee shop repurposed with lots of ethnically-appropriate knickknacks; a pleasant Bollywood show plays on the nearby monitor. Can't fault that. The real travesty of this restaurant, however, is the waitstaff - specifically, our waitstaff - who took the opportunity to upsell us on more expensive dishes at every opportunity, and would NOT take NO for an answer. I asked for Chicken Tikka Masala, half order, at $12. He *insisted* that the Mixed Tandoori Platter at $18 was a much better value because you get so much more and more varied types of protein. But I was not quite as hungry as the rest of my party and was watching my figure and my pocket; I wanted the $12 CTM! No, he insisted, you'll order the Mixed Tandoori Platter and you'll like it! We also were encouraged to try the smoothies. My wife loves mango, so a Mango Lassi seemed in order. Nope, our waiter assured us we would be much better off with the more expensive "Tropical" Lassi. We ordered one to share, and still, we were continually asked if "I wanted to order another one for the lady". Again, the Lassi was excellent, but the act of ordering it left a bad taste in our mouths. With prices in the $12-$18 range, lunch seems a better value to be sure. At home, we have an abundance of local Indian favorites that are much more reasonably priced (CTM for $6, for example, we love ya, Curry Up!). Perhaps we've been conditioned by this. Still, as tourists to PCB, we really felt like we were being quite taken advantage of. I nearly wondered if our server was going to throw in some rustproofing and floor mats with our order. Pity.

Food is very good!!!! If you are looking for correct taste of indian food, this should be your first place on the list to stop by...I would rate it 10 out of 10. I liked malai kofta dish a lottt over there... It got correct levels of spice and taste as i requested.... The staff are very friendly and will help you with the order selection greatly.I will visit again if i get a chance.. Great food, great staff, great service!!!

Can't be rated also. Its been one hr and still waiting for biryani. .. extremely ridiculous service. .. they cannot handle the place if few tables are occupied. . But food tastes fine...
(1)Aby H.
Delicious food, great hospitality (esp. from Mr. Owner - Subhash). Must try vegeterian and biriyani if non vegeterian and at the background playing flute instrumental music of Pundit HariPrasad Chaurasiya. Just can't ask for more. A perfect square meal with family.
(4)Rob Y.
Food great. Service bizarre. Won't honor coupons off website because they were "out of date" so gave us booklet with currently dated coupon then refused to honor that until next visit??? Never mind - I deducted my own discount from the tip. Sort it out guys, your food is really good but we won't be back after that treatment.
(3)Purnima S.
Have been there while traveling to Panama City beach... First of all we had to get you plates changed thrice ( because it was dirty) and then then I order lentil soup which has uncooked lentils and then comes the main course which was average. The breads we ordered weren't good at all too. Helpful Q&A for tourist : Would I recommend this place no Would I cam here again No Would I rather drive to destin for food Heck yea
(2)Lauren N.
For the price this place deserves 5 stars. Food is fantastic! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is the way this place looks. The outside was shady. But as soon as you enter and the restaurant, delicious Indian food smells hit your nose. We had lunch - lunch special- for two which included soup, drinks, naan with garlic and cheese, a meal and a dessert.
(4)Brandi C.
Worst Indian food I've ever had. Bhoutari was both greasy and overcooked at the same time. Chicken tika masala tasted stale. Inside is as sketchy as the outside. Skip this one.

I want to tell you a story of 7 friends having to find a place to eat on late new year's eve 2015. It was supposed to be the first dinner of the year with some of your best friends and we ended up at this Crappy restaurant. So, this is how it started. We had an old white woman welcoming us in with a smile and we felt warm and made ourselves comfortable at a table for 8. Though the place is decorated like 20 years ago and never redone, we just thought we went there for the food. Then started the jokes from the waitress who served us water. Pure racist jokes. I don't mind if the jokes were not offensive but they were. She started saying really bad words when she saw other group of people walking in when it was almost closing time. Really bad words. When they came in, she just welcomed them the same way she did us. I don't know if we got the same whining before we walked in. Then there was food. I travel a lot and I had my share of crappy Indian food. But boy, this beats everybody else. This was the worst food I ever had. When the chef/other server asked us how the food was, we had to tell them. We were diplomatic and said we have had better food. I was looking at the check at that time and the bill was $64. After that, they did something no other restaurant no matter how crappy their food and service was did. They added 3.99 at the end of the receipt and brought a check of $68 this time. I will attach the check if I can. P.S. I hate you guys for it. You just didn't offer crappy food and crappy service. You stole from me. Since we all believe in Karma. Wait for it bite on your thieving butts. Thank You.
(1)Michael B.
The venue is a dive. Looks like an old Waffle House. Don't be misled though - the food is worth it. Service was average. I ordered the lunch special. Specifically, I had the chicken curry. It came with soup, naan bread, rice, and a small dessert - rice pudding. All for $8.99.
(5)Patrik P.
Food is alright. Not recommend is onion kulcha bread. Garlic naan is good. This is the only one good in Panama.
(3)Alana T.
I thought I'd written a review, but can't find it. I did submit pictures. I worked at a food establishment and we frequently had foodies come through and I only heard good things about this place. It's one of those hole-in-the-wall gems. Friendly, good service and fantastic food! The naan is a must.
(4)Sophie C.
Good Indian food. Definitely come here if your craving Indian food or prefer anything ethnic over burgers. I'd like to give it 3.5 stars on the food. Naan was good but a bit flat and not as fresh as our favorite Indian places in Michigan.....but overall good. The service is similar to another reviewers comment on the "hard selling/used car salesmen" technique! A bit much but I give them props for hustling.
(3)Stella M.
Best Indian food we have had in Florida. The palak paneer was amazing. Huge pieces of paneer and spiced just right. The chana masala was also really good. It was different from any chana masala I have ever ordered. It had strips of ginger in it and it was very tasty. Their food runs a little on the spicy side, so if you're sensitive to spice you should order mild
(4)Antony S.
I've been to India 3 times, and I've had the best indian from California to NY, where we have a huge indian community and fierce competition. This is as authentic as you can get , especially for panama city, apart from actually going to India. Try it, outside looks like a dive, but the food quality is good.
(4)S S.
Food was good. Service was pushy, like a used car salesman kind of pushy. A bit pricy.
(3)Genuine R.
I would not suggest this restaurant to any one else. The service is pretty horrible, it took about one hour for the food to come and at the end its not tasty either. I feel for the waiters though who are only two of them and no manager to help them out with the orders. Coming to the ambiance the tables are very congested and very uncomfortable. Lastly, spending 15$ for a mediocre biryani is not at all a worth. Hopefully the restaurant management will look into this review and start pulling up their socks.
(1)M A.
It's may be small inside but don't let his restaurant fool you, the food is outstanding!! Delicious indian cuisine, The chicken tikka masala was great, the chicken curry and lamb saag was excellent! Try the garlic-cheese naan bread with your meal, will definitely be going again, in my opinion one of the best restaurants in Panama City.
(5)Debra A.
Very good for vegans!!
(5)Jan B.
I love Indian food and make it quite often. We have eaten at Everest twice. Although the outside and inside are somewhat rough, the food is quite good. The service could be better and the temperature in the restaurant was very cold the last time we were there at the end of November. To be fair, it was raining quite hard and there were several pans on the floor collecting dripping water. The temperature of my food both times was only lukewarm, so I asked to have it heated up. The spice combinations were quite nice. I had Aloo Gobi the first time. The second time: Vindaloo Vegetables. I preferred the Aloo Gobi. The Vindaloo Vegetables were colored a disconcerting red which I was told was traditional. (I could do without the food coloring.) Their bread is outstanding! You cannot go wrong ordering it! I would rate the bread at 5 stars. If you prefer your food spicy, you may want to ask for extra hot. The hot, at least for me, was medium hot. Although I like spicy food, I draw the line at food that is so spicy you can't taste it. For vegetarians and vegans, there is a good selection on the menu. ( I am a vegan.) The prices to me are a little high. Our bill the second time for three people was over $65. Just a tip: They have special prices for lunch during the week. If you go on the weekends lunch prices are the same as evening prices.
(4)Manoj B.
Liked it. Came in here on a Saturday for lunch. Had a decent number of people in here. Ordered from the Lunch Menu. Food was decent. The best part was the owner Subas. He was very friendly and courteous. At the end of our meal he offered us tea which was the icing on the cake! A good place for Indian Cuisine lovers as there are not a lot of Indian Cuisine options here in Panama City. My Opinion: Must try if you love Indian Cuisine.
(4)Paul Z.
One of the hidden gems in Panama City. Very good food every time we went. Sometimes the service was off but the food was always worth the wait. Five stars for the food.
(5)Larry C.
The food easily gets 5 stars. Had takeout tofu mattar that was delicious. It's nice to have place that serves vegetarian food for a change of pace. Like other people have said, don't let the facade of the building scare you away. This location used to be a Chinese place. Can't wait to try the other menu items.
(4)Ken G.
We have lived on 30A for quite a while now and have never found an Indian restaurant in the area. After hearing a few foodie friends talk about Everest we went tonight. We had a wonderful meal. Very friendly staff and the service was great. We will be spreading the word and making this a regular on our list!
(5)Stephen J.
The food here was just ok. Then you add the price which is really expensive and the serving are on the small side that's why I given only to stars. I got the butter chicken which didn't taste like butter chicken and the Naan bread tasted like.pizza bread. There is not much choice for Indian food in this part of Florida so if you live here your sol and if your on vacation here spend your money someplace else.
(2)Leslie D.
Very good indian food. Nice and spicy:) enjoyed my meal visiting from ny. Friendly people . Great garlic naan this place Is more pak than Indian food
(5)Jennifer S.
I've ordered takeout here twice. The first time I had the chicken curry and chicken tikka the second time. Now I know why the best restaurant in Britain was a hole-in-the-wall Indian place on Gordon Ramsay's show. Don't let the crappy building dissaude you. These meals are packed with flavor, and nicely portioned. A little on the expenisive side, but I can get two meals out of an order here. There is also quite an extensive menu with plenty of meat and vegetarian options. I haven't tried the eggplant dish yet, but I'm dying too. Also, their naan is amazing. I just love sopping up all of the sauce with my naan. Get out there and try something new people!
(5)Rakhee G.
I visited this place for dinner while on vacation to panama city. Honestly i did not like the food. I ordered chicken tikka masala and chicken bhuna. Chicken bhuna had overwhelming cummin taste. It was pricey as compared to the quality of Food. Definately not an authentic indian restaurant.
(2)Craig C.
Superb food. I'm British and I miss my Indian food! Oh happy joy when we found this newly opened restaurant. The food is awesome, I would say it is as good if not better than any Indian food I have tried in the USA and we are blessed to have this place right here in Panama City! Everything is freshly cooked, spicy, aromatic and oh so tasty! The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. There is beer and wine available. This place really deserves to do well and you won't find anything better on the Gulf Coast or beyond.
(5)Sheryl G.
I'm so glad another yelper mentioned this place in THE TALK - PANAMA CITY. Thank you thank you thank you!! Before this place the only other indian restaurant available was Saffron and I can tell you, this restaurant is WAYYYY better. It's not buffet style, its made to order and the decor is bright, open, with wide windows everywhere for light to come in and the decorations on the walls represents the owner's home in New Delhi (at least that's what he told me and my boys). I'm a huge fan of their spinach and cheese dish called Palak Paneer that they offer on their lunch menu for $6.99. Of course while you're there if you're new to the curry scene try out their chicken tikka masala (found on the dinner menu side but they can make it at lunch). My boys had the chicken tandoori with the basmati rice and the butter chicken which was tandoori chicken in a tomato sauce and ground herbs over basmati rice. Since I can't eat the naan my kids devoured for me. To wash it down we had mango juice (yum), and Mango Lassi (mango +yogurt = super yum!) and water. Since we came at lunch, they serve a small cup of lentil soup which you can add some red spice to liven it up or just have it as it is, its also delicious. I can't get enough of this place. Not too far from the Gulf Coast State College. Hopefully they're gonna start offering military discount to sweeten the experience. HINT HINT! P.S. We had awesome customer service each time too, keep it up!
(5)Hoda E.
My mother is Indian, And I lived in NYC near lexington Ave where there are some of the best Indo-Pak dives in the world. Lets just say I know good Desi food when I taste it. Sorry other Yelp reviewers, not trying to undermine your credibility, just bolstering mine. The interior is what you should expect from an Indian restaurant. They're always busted on the Inside. It's what's in the kitchen that makes you come back. I had the Vindaloo, and palak paneer. So darn good. I'm going to come back to try everything on the menu. I just hope that good ol' southern folk are willing to take a break from Golden Corral every so often and give places like this a try.
(5)R C.
This was our second visit to Everest and will definitely be our last. The food was not bad. I had Tandoori chicken. But, the service made me feel like I was at a used car dealership. The two workers made constant comments to us that we should be ordering more food, that we should order the more expensive selections, and drink sodas instead of water. It was shocking to all of us. Afterwards, we all agreed that this place was not worth another visit. Too bad. ..I love Indian food.
(2)Lani W.
Delicious, delicious Indian food -- if I were rating only on the quality of the food, this would be a 5-star review! The building itself looks like a dive, the decor is rough, the service is average ... but oh, the food. The lunch special is 8.99, 7.99 if you go for the vegetarian option, and it's worth every penny. Dinner is considerably pricier, and at those prices I'd like a nicer atmosphere, but you still can't beat the quality of the food for the money. I've been back twice, and I'll be back again, for the best Indian food I've found in North Florida.
(4)Bradley W.
I convinced a team of friends, five of us in total, to give Everest a try -- sight unseen. My father had enjoyed his experience there earlier in the week, but he and I are Indian-food junkies. This was a crew of people who ranged from averse towards spicy food to full-on wary of Indian cuisine. All were pleased. Though our to-go containers busted en route, their contents swayed the hearts, tongues, and minds of our every eater. Not only will I return, but I fully anticipate testing each of their lunch specials. To my surprise, I'm pleased the restaurant has veered away from the buffet system so common with Indian restaurants. The dishes don't sit under heat lamps, waiting for the uninitiated to be disappointed. Rather the chef makes the food fresh and serves it directly to the customers himself. The interior is what you might expect from a once-Chinese restaurant re-purposed into a sit-down diner. The plastic table covers won't endear Everest to the Zagat crowd anytime soon, but the friendly service and superb food will do what any good restaurant does: Make you full, but leave hungry for more.
(5)Allan B.
We've eaten Indian food all over this country, Everest Indian Restaurant is good food but 40% too expensive. Tonight my wife bought home a chicken entree, naan and soup, price $25. I bough the same thing last week in Greenville SC for $12 and two months ago in Manhattan NY ate a feast for that much. For the portion size it's just wayyy over priced. Two weeks ago when they opened Everest Indian Restaurant we got take out... three entirees, an appetizers and naan... for a family of 4 people...$78.
(4)Sara O.
I love Indian food and was excited to see there was a new place in the panhandle. I went there with my family today and we all really enjoyed the food. Of all the Indian restaurants in this area (Pcb to Pensacola) we agreed that this place had the best flavor to their dishes and tasted like what you would expect if you've had good Indian food before. I ordered the chicken vindaloo, my dad ordered the vegetable korma and my mom got the tandori lunch plate. It was all delicious! My tip to you is if you like spicy food, make sure you order hot. The medium had hardly any spice. In terms or price, I don't think it is over priced at all. This restaurant's prices are the same, if not slightly lower than many Indian restaurants I've eaten at in Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa and St. Pete, even Pensacola. We ordered 2 entrees off the dinner menu, one entree off the lunch menu, and an order of naan for the table. Our bill was $39. I gave it 4 stars because of the lack of decor or ambiance inside. Half of the restaurant is floor to ceiling glass windows which made the place a little warm around lunch time with the sun beaming in. Hopefully after some time, they'll spruce it up and add some shades or blinds or something. If only I lived in Panama City, I would order takeout from there all the time! (Hopefully Niceville/Eglin gets an Indian restaurant soon!)
(4)Lyle H.
Good authentic food. Great mango lassi. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but it what's inside.
(4)robin d.
Panama city is frozen right now...much like the summit of Mt Everest... I imagine this Indian restaurant was such named because some explorer that scaled that majestic peak thought as she plunged her summit flag into the top of the mountain, "I wish I had some lamb josh Groban right now." this place is so friggin awesome. if you're at gone freezing your butt off right now, come here!
(5)Eric B.
In the past 10 years or so since I've been a fan of Indian food, there have been a few Indian restaurants in Panama City. Unfortunately, they seem to either move around or go out of business. When this restaurant opened, I was excited to give it a try and I'm glad that I did. The food was excellent.
(5)Peter S.
I have visited Everest many times food is always delicious. Everest is one my favorite indian restaurant. Try dal makhani and paneer methi malai.
(5)Teampcbeach ..
We visited last night on the recommendation of a co-worker that had lived overseas for a while. We shared the Chicken Tika (plenty for two people) and it was great. Very flavorful and the chicken was all white meat and very tender. We also had some Garlic, Cheese Naan that was also great. We will definitely dine here again.
(4)Ron A.
Yes, it looks rough from the outside and yes, you should go in. Definitely a diamond in the rough. For nearly a year, we have searched for decent Indian food. As transplants from DC, we are used to great Indian and many options. In the Panama City area, not so much. However, all changed when we found Everest on 23rd. We've been to Everest 4 times in the last few months and will go back many more times. Everything we've had has been great - never a bad dish and always great service. I'd like to focus on specific dishes, but it's honestly not necessary. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu - Saag, Tika Masala, Paneer...etc. All great. Oh, and don't forget the garlic and cheese naan. I admit that we were skeptical and hesitated to go in the first time. But, not anymore. You won't be disappointed. Would have given it 5 stars if the place would have been a bit more inviting - food is definitely a 5!
(4)Allyson F.
Looks dicey on outside, but food inside is delicious!!! Staff so accommodating too-we came for takeout and were treated as well as if we were staying in the restaurant. Had the appetizer platter-delicious, spicy ( not too much), chicken tikka masala, and a veggie dish. The meat portions good, flavors incredible, and nice creamy flavor. Garlic naan best I've had!! Rates as some of best Indian Ive ever had, and Ive been to most major us cities and had Indian in each.
(5)Mellisa L.
Finally good Indian food in Panama City! Curry is amazing! I had Butter chicken and husband had chicken curry. The lunch special is a great deal you get complimentary naan and some spicy onion chutney and dessert.
(5)Greg S.
Finally an Indian restaurant in here that is awesome! Some of the best Vidaloo I have ever had. Service is great and all authentic.
(5)LauraLynn J.
YUM! Very authentic and lovely tasting food. Loved the mango/veggie dish. Veggie Pakoras made me feel like I was back in India. Take out was well packaged, no leakage of any kind. As I sat waiting for the take-out order I was grateful the absence of TV, seen so often in many places these days.
(5)Belles P.
This place was outstanding. Went based on the reviews here and other places and found them to be spot-on. So, I was craving Indian food on my birthday. I hadn't been to an Indian restaurant in years. The good ones are usually way out of my budget and the cheaper places tend to be buffets - icky. They've only been open a month or so. The decor is more or less non-existent; crappy furniture and the place needs repairs. It's pretty obvious that all of the start-up money went to making AMAZING food, which is what I was there for anyway. We had the lunch special - soup, chutney, nan, lentil wafers, rice, entree, and dessert for 6.99! (Dinner prices were much higher). My boyfriend had the Aloo Palak, and I had a delicious chickpea and tomato dish - I forget the name. It was a ton of food already, but we ordered the appetizer sampler, garlic-cheese nan, and a mango lassi (I can't pass them up) as well, so we ended up having enough leftovers to leave us stuffed after dinner too. The rice-pudding for dessert was well made and tasty, but rice-pudding is just kind of boring. Matter of taste and inconsequential; we were too full to eat it anyway. Midway through our meal, our waiter offered us an Indian beer - Kingfisher maybe? I don't know much about beer, but it went down fine and wasn't gross (I'm picky, yet clueless). My boyfriend said it was pretty good and he's going to look for it next time we buy beer. The service was fantastic and made us forget that we weren't somewhere fancy. Our waiter was beyond attentive, helpful with his suggestions, and pretty cute to boot. My boyfriend, who was pretty sure he didn't like Indian food before our visit, can't wait to go back. I'm super excited to have found affordable, authentic, no-buffet Indian food with a great staff less than a mile from home, so I'm writing my first Yelp review after years of using this site. If everyone could go support this place so that they'll still be open next time I go, I'd appreciate it!
(5)Zana I.
Our first trip to this restaurant. The papadums were thin and crispy and the dipping sauces were outstanding. The onion baji was our favorite item on the appetizer platter. We ordered chicken vindaloo with a medium spice level. It was delicious. Next time we will go with the hot spice level, We also had the Dal Makhani which was excellent. The Garlic Naan was soooo good. It was light as a feather with just the right amount of butter and garlic. The food was freshly prepared and beautifully presented. The decor seemed unfinished, we wrote that off to the fact that they have only been open a few days. We're looking forward to adding Everest to our list of restaurants we visit on a regular basis.
(5)Yara M.
My and my family were on a vacation to Panama and we decided to try something new. Indian cuisine is pretty foreign to us so we agreed on that. When we were seated down, about five minutes later a waiter came and served us with water and a basket of an unknown crispy bread with black specks spread over it and for the dip(s) a red pepper sauce, a strange neon green sauce, and a black gory black substance sauce. Those all tasted bland and...just not good. When we ordered and had received our food-let me just tell you they were FANTASTIC. I had ordered the mixed vegetable curry and it was beyond amazing. I ate it with naan which is one of the best items on the menu and rice. But I had ordered Cucumber Rayta(I think that's it's name) and expected yogurt with sliced cucumber and spices....What I got instead was a white liquid sauce with shreds of cucumber. It tasted like moldy cucumbers and water with a bitter edge to it. That was a real disappointment but the other foods were to say the least AMAZING. The service was mild. Not too bad not too good but the decorations of the restaurant were old and...suspicious? If for not the food I would give this 1 star but the food has kicked it all the way up! I hope to be coming back again just for the food.
(4)Nicole P.
Coming from Ocala, we were very fortunate to have a great Indian restaurant (Amrit Palace) but this stuff is, dare I say, better! We had mataar paneer and curried vegetables and the food was incredibly fresh, creamy yet rather light. The naan was to die for, perfect amount of browning and just the right amount of ghee. So often Indian food is too rich, but this was just decadent enough. The mango lassi was like delicious liquid mango...not like a mango yogurt drink. The (complimentary!) mango custard served to us in two small plates, was the perfect palate cleansing dessert. Definitely worth a try! The owner was very friendly and the staff was attentive but not at all overbearing. Don't be put off by the location (a glass box on the side of 98) - eat in, since their excellent service is part of what makes this restaurant one of Panama City's crown jewels! I hope they stick around forever :) I'll surely be back!
